Seid gegrüßt alle neuen und alten Zuhausis!

Jerboa on Android, Mlem on iOS (as they are both the only options for now)

3

I don’t see how that’s a problem. The devs always honored principles of free software. Anyone can use Lemmy as they wish and host their own instance, implementing their own policies.

Lemmygrad is not Lemmy.

What characters does the name include? I think only Latin characters, numbers and _ are supported.

I am not sure if using the jerboa search fetches the remote community. You should try using the web search for that.

@dessalines@lemmy.ml can give a definitive answer.

Hexbear UI and Lemmy backend are probably not compatible with each other. Hexbear forked off a couple of years ago and uses an old version of the API (and probably modified too).

There are efforts to come closer to upstream but I don’t know if that’s only for server to server communication or client to server communication too.

It’s like the total stereotype of paranormal sights: an unidentifiable flying object about a decade ago.

Me and my extended family (about 12 people in total) were watching the night sky for shooting stars (the time of year when the Earth passes the Perseids) when a large triangular (I think V-shaped 7 lights) object flew directly above us. The object seemed to be flying quite low but was completely silent.

I’m sure there’s an explanation for this, but I haven’t found it yet.

Yay capitalism! I didn’t know how bad the industry is until I watched seaspiracy. Really a must see for fish lovers.

Usually wraps filled with salad, black or red beans, tomatoes, paprika and tofu.

Not in absolute numbers but at least until the recent exodus the relative number of vegans here was quite high. But as the other comment said, this is for now the largest.

That explains why it is now pointing to lemmygrad 😬 Maybe now would be a good time to reopen it if you have a backup laying around.

Hmm usually it should be enough to paste https://lemmy.ml/c/baduk into the search field, but it does not show up. Maybe beehaw is overloaded at the moment?

Ich würde ja sagen fluten wir r/ich_iel mit pro Feddit maimais, aber Brigadieren kommt bestimmt nicht so gut an

Nur noch 9ct. Dann kann ich die Wärmepumpe ja wieder zurückgeben /s

Right. Lemmy would need at least an option for admins to not show content from certain instances in the All feed. And overall more sophisticated tools for moderating remote content (e.g. side wide mods that aren’t as powerful as admins but still can remove federated posts)

Depends on the kind of labor.

If it was physical I usually scroll social media or more recently play the new Zelda game. Or straight up go to bed for a nap.

If it was mental I often go swimming or ride my bike to clear my mind.

Idk. Proprietary Nvidia driver on Debian or vanilla Fedora aren’t easy for non-tech folks either. Last time I tried with Debian was 2018 though.

Porn is kinda difficult. There are probably few people who want to moderate and more importantly be liable for pornographic content hosted on their servers. Many Hoster also explicitly forbid adult content.

Not impossible but someone would have to do it ^^

I could also totally see something like naughtyverse.xxx as domain name.

If you use a distro that includes Nvidia drivers by default (like Ubuntu or Pop!OS or VanillaOS) it is pretty much a no brainer nowadays. For gaming I’ve been using Ubuntu with an Nvidia card for the past 3 years, and did not encounter any problem related to the drivers.

I often used to play ARAM in League of Legends when I was bored. Can’t do that anymore though because I don’t want to get addicted to that salty game again 😬

If Apollo was only open source, one could probably even port it. Heck, if there’s enough momentum from Reddit to Lemmy, it might become attractive for the dev.

Mit dem Angriff der neuen Reaktoren wird alles in Ordnung kommen!

Ich unterstütze dies

It also needs an iOS mobile app

There is mlem (only on TestFlight yet).

Might also be the password. The length is capped at 60 characters and (at least in the past) a longer password resulted in endless spinning.

Was ist falsch mit der Sachsen CDU?

Multiple open tabs result in strange behaviour
Today I noticed an interesting bug in lemmy-ui. If you open a post in one tab and then open a new tab where you subscribe to a different community, the sidebar and "target community" of the post in the previous tab will be updated to the newly subscribed community. However, this only happens when you subscribe to remote communities. I suspect the reason for this is that the FollowCommunityResponse is sent to both websockets of the open tabs. I don't know if the upcoming removal of the websocket API will make this bug a non-issue, so I haven't reported it on Github. :::spoiler Expand for some screenshots ![](https://feddit.de/pictrs/image/4a4f1669-e16d-44e3-bc98-30562f8b87c3.png) ![](https://feddit.de/pictrs/image/394d2d6f-4510-4f99-bb3e-ef3e4e0b869f.png) ::: (Browser is Firefox 113.0.2 btw)

Zeitgenössische Usenet-Diskussion zum Mauerfall
cross-posted from: https://feddit.de/post/693921 > Auf r/de gefunden.

An Update regarding Reddit’s API
Seems like API access will become monetized (like Twitter did it). This will probably kill off most third party apps if users are forced into subscriptions (see for example [statement from Apollo](https://www.reddit.com/r/apolloapp/comments/12ram0f/had_a_few_calls_with_reddit_today_about_the/))

Unfortunately about half of the article is behind a hard paywall
