I recently wanted to try out Reader View but for some reason the icon in the url bar was nowhere to be seen. After taking a look at about:config
it seems the feature is permanently disabled. Is there a reason for this?
The preference is called reader.parse-on-load.enabled
.

it’s not even in librewolf.cfg so I have no idea why it’s disabled for you. are you using a 2yo version or sum?
It should be up-to-date, being Version 105.0.1 taken from the AUR.
that’s odd it’s not like that for me in any of my installations and as I said it’s not part of the librewolf config. did you tweak the policies by chance?
No, I don’t think so. But yeah, that’s pretty weird if you can’t find it anywhere yourself.
Random things being untoggleably disabled is why I gave up on LibreWolf. Good defaults and customization are both extremely important.
can you name a few? the browser changed a TON in the past year or so.
