Any Watcher fans here?
My whole family loves Shane and Ryan. They have a great chemistry together. I will admit I am not a huge fan of the "Are you afraid of..." series. We are all certified Shaniacs by the way.

Any DS9 fans here? At first I hated Kai Winn episodes, but then I realized how well she works as a villain in the series. Gul Dukat was the more impactful antagonist overall, but the series might have been more shallow if everyone on Bajor was a "good guy", although it would have been nice to see more of Kai Opaka before ... ::: spoiler spoiler ... they killed her off (or after they killed her and brought her back, but stranded her in the Gamma Quadrant). ::: -- This is my first post. I am looking for a good place for Star Trek discussions, news, jokes, memes, etc. that isn't reddit. I figure it will be a while before it needs it's own community. I'm going to miss some of the content in trek subreddits, but not the Paramount sponsored mods.

Remember [Shut Up and Dance](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shut_Up_and_Dance_(Black_Mirror))? That has to be my favorite episode.

Origami paper boxes are fun and practical crafts that can be used for storing small items or even as gift boxes. Follow these steps to make a simple origami paper box: Start with a square sheet of origami paper. If you don't have origami paper, you can use any square-shaped paper, such as scrapbook paper or cut a square from regular paper. Fold the paper in half diagonally, crease it well, and unfold. You should have a diagonal crease running from one corner to another. Fold the paper in half diagonally in the opposite direction, crease it well, and unfold. You will have two intersecting diagonal creases on the paper. Fold the four corners of the paper towards the center, aligning them with the intersection of the diagonal creases. Crease well. Turn the paper over. Fold the four corners towards the center again, aligning them with the intersection of the diagonal creases. Crease well. Fold the bottom edge of the paper up towards the top edge, crease it well, and unfold. Then, fold the left edge towards the right edge, crease it well, and unfold. You will have two perpendicular creases in the center of the paper. Using the creases as a guide, collapse the paper into a square shape by pushing the sides towards the center and folding along the existing creases. Tuck the flaps of the paper into the pocket formed by the overlapping flaps to secure the box. Gently press the sides and edges of the box to reinforce the creases and make sure it holds its shape. Congratulations! You have successfully made an origami paper box. You can decorate it with stickers, drawings, or ribbon to add a personal touch.

If you spend 4.5 hours watching this video, it's still less time wasted than if you watched the show *The Secret Life of the American Teenager*. Got me laughing out loud every few minutes and I couldn't stop watching this absolutely wild ride through this iconic (and by iconic I mean truly terrible) anti-abortion show that somehow made it to prime time TV for five entire seasons.

Children of Men (2006)
What a wonderful movie for a wonderful story. This is a dystopia, but not your typical, mass-produced totalitarian cesspool movies. This dystopia is, according to Mark Fisher, “specific to late capitalism.” When humans stopped giving birth, the world as we know it fell into disarray and chaos. What interested me was the numerous ways the last people coped with this collapse: there was the religious/spiritual repenting and Christian revelaation stuff, there was the revolutionnaries engaging in activities deemed "terroristic" and there was the nihilism of the elite. Late capitalism was tacitly enmeshed into the film, showing those advertisements of platonic figures all over the place, and concealing the implicit totalitarianism hidden behind apparently democratic institutions.

We’re a collective of individuals upset with the way social media has been traditionally governed. A severe lack of moderation has led to major platforms like Facebook to turn into political machinery focused on disinformation campaigns as a way to make profit off of users. Websites with ineffective moderation allow hate speech to proliferate and contribute to the erosion of minority rights and safe spaces. Our goal with Beehaw is to demonstrate and promote a healthier environment.

    Some thoughts on our philosophy:

Operating our server costs money. If you donate, you should know that 100% of the costs will go towards server time, licensing costs, and artwork. In the future if we need to hire developers or other labor, it would be sourced through the Open Collective Foundation, and it would be transparent to the community before any changes were made.

As a news aggregator and a social media outlet, with a focus on being a safe and accepting space, we strive to create a positive social impact. We will, also, help to connect underprivileged and minority individuals with education and civic participation by promoting a healthier online experience.
